Also, by utilizing our NTI Days and Equivalent Time Days when schools were closed due to inclement weather, the last day of school for students is still May 30, 2025. Good afternoon, this is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools. First, I would like to apologize for any concern that my decision this morning to have school has caused you. The decision was made from information gained through our school weather debriefing the evening before, and our early morning snow drivers reporting snow had not begun. However, I take full responsibility for this decision. Unfortunately, the system has moved north placing Jackson County in its path until 12:30 p.m. today. Instead of releasing students early, after careful review of all weather information, we will dismiss schools at the normal time allowing the Department of Highways time to treat roads before the evening commute. Please expect bus delays this evening. Our goal is to take all precautionary measures to ensure a safe trip home for all children and staff. If your child drives to school, please consider picking them up or having them ride a bus home. Also, our principals will stay at their schools until all students have been picked up and returned home safely. Once again, I apologize for this morning and the issues it has caused. Thank you.
